Researching and training to make the Vietnam’s maritime and logistics training to become a key economic sector

[mt.gov.vn] The Vietnam Traffic Safety Association in collaboration with STC Group (Netherlands) organized the “Global trends in Human Resource Training in Port, Logistics, Maritime and Maritime & Security” Seminar in order to share information from experienced professionals in maritime training and management fields in the afternoon of 21/11/2019 in Hanoi.

Attending the workshop were Mr. Khuat Viet Hung, Vice President in charge of the National Traffic Safety Committee; Nguyen Hong Truong, former Deputy Minister of Transport, President of Vietnam Traffic Safety Association; Mr. Frits Gronsveld, Chairman of the Board of Directors of STC Group; representatives of the Netherlands Embassy, international organizations in Vietnam, Vietnam Maritime Administration, Vietnam Inland Waterway Administration; Research institutes, universities, lecturers, students, representatives of businesses and organizations working in the field of providing training programs and providing human resources in the related field.

Having speech at the Seminar, Mr. Nguyen Hong Truong, former Deputy Minister – Ministry of Transport, Chairman of Vietnam Traffic Safety Association on behalf of the Leaders of the Vietnam Traffic Safety Association congratulated the Board of Directors of STC Group and all officials, employees for the success achieved by STC Group in recent years.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Truong recognized STC Group is a leading education and research organization in the world in the maritime, logistics, transport and supply chain processes. STC Group has been in Vietnam since the 1990s through various training supports and technical expertise in the transport industry, typically in the field of maritime human resources and logistics training. STC Group has made certain contributions in supporting the training facilities to the training center under the Ministry of Transport.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Truong, in addition to the joint venture on training in Vietnam with Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport and the Tan Cang Sai Gon Corporation, this is the first time STC Group cooperates with Vietnam Traffic Safety Association, a major social and professional organization in Vietnam, which is operating in the field of traffic safety, having the same purpose for connecting, supporting and helping each other in career development, training to improve knowledge and experience in management; doing research and applying science and technology in traffic safety, including maritime safety and security.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Truong said Vietnam Traffic Safety Association has organized many training courses to improve the capacity of officers working on road safety, inland waterways and maritime safety and security.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Truong proposed STC Group to coordinate closely with Vietnam Traffic Safety Association to organize training and coaching activities to contribute to the development of maritime transport industry in particular and the socio-economic situation of Vietnam in general, it is also the evidence for the success of STC Group in Vietnam.

Experts share knowledge and experience in the discussion section of the Seminar

The support and involvement of STC Group in Vietnam over the being time expressed through the presentations at the Seminar is a very positive contribution in training and developing high quality of Human Resources in the field of maritime, transportation and logistics. He hoped STC Group would continue to make more important contributions to the development of Vietnam’s maritime, transport and logistics industries, Mr. Nguyen Hong Truong emphasized.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Chief Representative of STC Group in Vietnam, said that the Seminar focused on four topics: Global development trends in ports and logistics; Revolution in maritime human resource education; Current situation and solutions for human resource development in the logistics industry in Vietnam; and Maritime safety and security.

“The seminar is an opportunity to share the STC Group’s international training experiences in the Netherlands with universities, training institutions in the fields of ports, logistics and maritime, in order to promote availability potentials and professional advantages to turn Vietnam maritime and logistics training into a spearhead economic sector, increasing competitiveness in the overall picture of the world logistics and transport industry in the century of industry 4.0″- Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy said.

At the seminar, the experts introduced and shared their knowledge and experience on training methods of human resources in port, logistics and maritime industry in the Netherlands to specialized maritime and logistics training organizations in Vietnam. Following is the sharing of Vietnam Maritime Administration in recent implementing the maritime security safety requirements in training human resources.
