Wrapping Up the Economic Mission in Ho Chi Minh City

Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam

🇳🇱🇻🇳 Wrapping Up the Economic Mission in Ho Chi Minh City
After a dynamic week across Vietnam, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Aukje de Vries concluded the economic mission together with 27 Dutch companies specialising in smart port and airport design, digital logistics, and training.
On the final working day 13 November, the delegation explored key logistics hubs shaping Vietnam’s future:
🔹 Cai Mep International Terminal (CMIT), Vung Tau – one of Vietnam’s deepest seaports and a symbol of strong Dutch–Vietnamese cooperation in port development.
🔹 Long Thanh International Airport project – Vietnam’s next major aviation gateway, where smart airport solutions and training offer promising areas for partnership.
🔹 Tan Cang–STC Human Resource Development Center – an important facility for training the next generation of logistics and port professionals.
During her concluding remarks in Ho Chi Minh City, Minister De Vries highlighted the natural synergy between Ho Chi Minh City and Rotterdam—two dynamic gateway cities with shared strengths in seaports, aviation, and logistics.
She emphasised that both cities have all the conditions to work closely together toward a shared vision:
“Connecting two gateways of the world: Rotterdam – Ho Chi Minh City.”
