“Business Opportunities and Challenges in Port Development in Vietnam” workshop and Logistics Conference recap
Parallel to the State Visit, an endeavor of significant economic importance unfolded as the Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, H.E. Mr. Mark Harbers, led a trade mission focused on water, logistics, and aviation. This mission underscored the commitment of both the Netherlands and Vietnam to strengthen bilateral ties and explore mutual opportunities for growth and development.
Central to the trade mission was the organization of two key events: the "Business Opportunities on Inland Waterways and Port Development" workshop in the morning and a Logistics Conference in the afternoon of 19 March 2024. These events, hosted at the prestigious Intercontinental Westlake Hanoi Hotel, brought together key stakeholders from the Netherlands and Vietnam to deliberate on avenues of collaboration and investment.
The "Business Opportunities on Inland Waterways and Port Development" workshop served as a forum for exchanging insights and best practices in the development of waterborne infrastructure. With the Netherlands renowned for its expertise in water management and maritime engineering, the workshop provided Vietnamese counterparts with valuable insights into port development, inland waterways management, and sustainable practices in the maritime sector.
Simultaneously, the Logistics Conference convened experts and industry leaders to explore synergies and opportunities in the logistics sector. As global trade continues to expand, efficient logistics networks are indispensable for facilitating the movement of goods and driving economic growth. Against this backdrop, the conference delved into topics such as supply chain optimization, multimodal transportation, and digitalization in logistics.
The accompanying trade mission, led by the Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, marked a significant milestone in advancing collaboration in key sectors such as water, logistics, and aviation. As the Netherlands and Vietnam embark on a journey of partnership and mutual benefit, the potential for transformative impact is vast, promising a brighter and more sustainable future for both nations and their peoples.
