(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of June 10, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People’s Committee Hoang Minh Cuong chaired a reception and working session with a delegation from STC Group (the Netherlands), led by Mr. Albert Bos, Director of STC International. Representatives from the city’s Departments of Foreign Affairs, Education and Training, Industry and Trade, and the Office of the City People’s Committee also attended the meeting.

Welcoming the STC Group delegation to Hai Phong, Vice Chairman Hoang Minh Cuong expressed his pleasure at receiving the distinguished guests and introduced the city’s development potential and competitive advantages.
He emphasized that Hai Phong is currently the largest seaport city in northern Vietnam, serving as the region’s principal gateway to the sea and one of the country’s key centers for economic development, industry, trade, and logistics. The city is actively implementing the objectives set out in Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW of the Politburo, with the goal of becoming a modern, smart, and sustainable industrial city, as well as an international logistics hub and a leading maritime economic center in the region.
With the operation of the Lach Huyen International Deep-Sea Port and a rapidly expanding network of industrial parks and economic zones, Hai Phong is experiencing a growing demand for highly skilled human resources in maritime affairs, logistics, port management, multimodal transportation, digital transformation, and innovation. In this context, the city places great importance on expanding cooperation with reputable international training institutions to enhance workforce quality and meet the requirements of international integration. The Vice Chairman expressed confidence that both sides possess significant potential to explore and promote practical cooperation in maritime and logistics development, management capacity building, and the application of advanced simulation technologies.

Expressing his sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by Hai Phong’s leaders, Mr. Albert Bos provided an overview of STC Group’s capabilities and international standing. He noted that STC is recognized as one of the leading institutions in the Netherlands and globally in the fields of maritime, port, and logistics education, training, and human resource development.
Highly impressed by Hai Phong’s development prospects, Mr. Albert Bos remarked that he sees many profound similarities between Hai Phong and the Netherlands, particularly in their natural advantages related to the maritime economy and their strategically important seaport systems that serve as gateways to international trade.
Drawing on STC Group’s extensive expertise and long-standing experience in the global maritime industry, Mr. Albert Bos expressed a strong desire to establish a long-term partnership with Hai Phong City in supporting the development of high-quality human resources and facilitating the transfer of advanced technological solutions. He noted that such cooperation would contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals and support Hai Phong’s ambition to become a world-class center for logistics and the maritime economy.
